Why Are Some Core Flavors Weak?Updated 7 months ago

Sometimes, weak Core flavors can simply be due to your tastebuds needing some time to heal after you make the switch to YOKU. This is normal - stick with it and give it some time!

Also, the potency does vary from one Core flavor to the next; for example, many people find Crisp Mint Cores stronger than Maple Pepper Cores or White Cranberry Cores.

The reason behind this is scientific. As our Cores are flavored with 100% natural plant extracts, there are natural varying compounds found in one plant versus other plants. Therefore, all of our Cores vary slightly in their strength of flavor, according to the compounds in the plants they are made from.

In Crisp Mint Cores, for example, the compound that gives the impression of being stronger is called Menthol, it's the compound that gives the cooling sensation we also experience with mint-flavored gum or lozenges. In other Cores, there's less or none of the menthol compound, making them feel weaker in comparison to the Crisp Mint Cores.

In reality, all of our Cores are made with about the same amount of flavoring, it's just that some of the plants have a more overpowering flavor while others are lighter. For some people, the strength of lighter flavors is preferable, for others they want a stronger flavor. We seek to provide a range of flavor strengths to meet the many different palates of our many customers.
